09/21/08 (happy birthday, mum!)

Realizing it was too hot, we had no water, and were illegally trespassing before 2pm, we decided to wait to view the lava flow closely for another occasion. Down the road in the current incarnation of Kalapana village, near a Hawaiian sovereinty flag, I purchased the tastiest papayas I've ever been lucky enough to savor.
